Formula Rationale
Nine Flavor Tea is based on 8 Flavor Tea (Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan) but is more suitable for long term treatment of Yin deficiency heat symptoms. Anemarrhena (Zhi Mu) and Phellodendron (Huang Bai) have been removed and replaced by Ophiopogon (Mai Men Dong), Dendrobium (Shi Hu), and Scrophularia (Xuan Shen) to enhance the Yin nourishing quality of this formula. Scrophularia also helps resolve lymphatic swelling.
